Born in Alexandria Egypt to a family from a mixed culture background. My father is from South Egypt, raised in a village and my mother is from an aristocratic family, her ancestors were from the Mediterranean.
I was raised in a very conservative environment, my brothers and I weren’t allowed to socialize with other kids in the neighborhood, we were virtually raised in a bubble.
When I made it to University it was my first time to interact with others outside the bubble I grew up in.
In University I chose to study agricultural engineering, believing this would allow me to understand many of environmental challenges our world is facing. While in college I decided to participate and get involved with everything I was banned from doing or could not do.
I joined the student union and soon after found myself being elected as the chief of the student union, and that was my first experience with the political dynamics at university level.
This is also a time when I decided to play sports professionally, being 6ft 5 helps a lot, and within four years I was able to play in the best basketball league in Egypt.
After I graduated, I went through a big culture shock when I was involved in a big event organized by the city hall and realized that the entire news hype about it was fabricated. I lost confidence in mainstream news after this and decided I wanted to get my own perspective of the world and of life. I started studying a foreign language so I could meet people from different backgrounds to be able to get different views. This led me back to the university again and to study to be qualified as a Tour Guide, where I realized that I was really interested in history as a tool to help me better understand the present and this in turn is what led me to go deeper into research and do my third university degree, in Egyptology.

Since then, Egyptology and Tour Guiding has become my main career, touring people of different backgrounds has helped me to grow greatly.

The following stage in my life was to start my own business. The main reason for this was that I wanted to share my approach and found it hard to find it fully implemented in other tour companies I worked for. I believe travel is the best way to bridge the gap between people of different backgrounds and if done probably and in a sustainable way this should contribute greatly to limit the conflicts between people and wars.
I called my company Real Egypt, aimed not only to show the touristy part of Egypt but also to help visitors to meet locals and explore the off beaten track. “The Authentic Egypt”.

After the dust had settled on the arab spring of 2011, my passion and interests evolved to exploring other destinations with strong connections to Egypt’s history and culture - I expanded to offering tours in Sudan and Jordan - “Real Sudan and Real Jordan”.

This helped me raise money to help pave my way to explore more and that has led me to visit other countries following my travelling passion even when I have no intentions to offer tours there, such as Turkey, Kingdom of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Uganda and Rwanda. I learned a lot from my travel, I have focused on not just the touristic sites but also on communicating with locals and sharing experiences with the different communities. This is my new passion now and I am hoping to be able to make my own contribution to this world. Travelling has helped me greatly to develop, and I believe it helps to unite people of diverse cultures and different backgrounds.
